Our Story

From New York to Palm Coast

Shade Number Seven began in New York in 2013 and put down roots in Palm Coast in 2021. The name has changed since those early years, but the work hasn't: custom window treatments designed with care and installed with precision. We've hung more than 100,000 blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery panels along the way, from single problem windows to celebrity homes, and we've learned something from every one of them. Our showroom sits beside our family's upholstery workroom, and visiting feels exactly like that sounds: cozy, unhurried, and personal. Come in with one stubborn window or a whole house to dress. We'll listen first. Then we'll figure it out together.

Meet the Shade Number Seven Team

Tibor Farkas
Co-Founder, CEO & Project Manager
Tibor oversees project planning, installation coordination, and the technical execution of each job. With extensive knowledge of motorization, smart-home integration, and complex window treatment systems, he helps determine exactly what each project requires. He also leads the installation of larger and more detailed projects, ensuring everything is completed properly and efficiently.
Olesea Vilhelmsons
Co-Founder, Owner & Lead Designer
Olesea leads the creative vision behind Shade Number Seven. She specializes in designing custom window treatment solutions, selecting fabrics, developing drapery concepts, and overseeing the details that bring each project together. From initial inspiration to final execution, she ensures every design feels thoughtful, elevated, and beautifully suited to the space.
Lucy Vard
Customer Experience & Marketing Coordinator
Lucy supports clients throughout every stage of their experience with Shade Number Seven. She manages scheduling, order updates, installation coordination, CRM organization, customer service, and digital marketing support. She also assists with administrative and hiring needs, helping keep the team organized and projects moving smoothly.
Denise Geraghty
Showroom Coordinator
Denise oversees the daily showroom experience and assists clients with product questions, samples, and design options. She helps walk-in customers feel comfortable and supported while exploring the possibilities for their homes. Denise also assists with scheduling, project updates, and keeping the showroom organized and welcoming.

How long have you been in business?

Shade Number Seven has been in the window treatment business since 2013, when we started in New York. We moved the company to Palm Coast in 2021, and Florida has been home ever since. More than a decade in, we've installed over 100,000 window treatments.

What makes Shade Number Seven different from chain retailers and online sellers?

Three things, mostly. You work directly with the family that owns the business, in a real showroom, instead of a rotating cast at a chain or a checkout page online. Our designer and installer work as one team, so what's promised in the consultation is exactly what shows up on your wall. And because we're an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer with our own workroom, we take on the unusual requests big-box stores turn away. We say yes, then we figure it out.

What areas do you travel to for installation?

We're based in Palm Coast and install throughout the surrounding area. We also take projects in Orlando and across South Florida, from Boca Raton and Coral Springs down to Miami and Coral Gables. If your city isn't on our locations pages, reach out anyway; we travel for the right project.

Do you have a showroom?

Yes, in Palm Coast, right alongside our family's upholstery workroom. It's intentionally cozy rather than corporate: working displays, fabric libraries, motorization demos, and a place to sit and think. Stop by, or book an in-home consultation and we'll bring the samples to you.
